When I started The Underdog Dentist Show, there was no dedicated platform in India where a healthcare professional could sit down and get a real conversation about the business of running a clinic or a pharmaceutical brand. The content that existed was either too clinical, too generic, or built for a Western market with completely different regulations and patient behaviour patterns.
I had spent years watching healthcare professionals get burned by agencies that did not understand the industry. The agencies did not understand the compliance frameworks. They did not understand how patients make decisions. They did not understand why you cannot run the same campaign for a dental clinic that you run for a restaurant. The communication gap was costing practices real money and real patients.
The show started as a way to close that gap. To put the right information directly into the hands of the people running these businesses, without a sales pitch attached to it. Every episode is built around one principle: give the listener something they can use this week.
The education space for healthcare marketing in India was empty when we started. Five seasons and 34 episodes later, we are the reference point that practitioners across India and Southeast Asia come back to when they want to understand how marketing actually works inside their industry.
